Four fashion details that will make your winter
Every season has its essentials. Is your wardrobe prepped for winter 2017? What new trends will bring you to your knees? Here is a closer look at the ready-to-wear collection must-haves
Brown is the new black
Whether it’s gray-beige, terracotta, curry, camel or mahogany – the season is all about brown. And we don’t mean accents here and there. It’s going to be the new heartthrob for women and their closets. Stylish yet subdued, it never goes out of fashion and goes great with everything. Step back black, brown is in town. This iconic shade perfectly embodies the “urban nature” trend, taking hues from both flora (wood, bark, etc.) and fauna (panthers and leopards). It is ideal for those who love nature and the city, fans of manicured wildernesses who are down-to-earth yet hyper-connected, the people who just have to have it all.
When fashion sees red
As if heckling the cold drizzle, the streets will be blossoming with random jolts of red. From shocking coral to deeply intense Turkey red or purple with pseudo-brown reflections. Mix and match to your heart’s content. Take note: This season, red is especially smitten with camel tints and leopard prints.
Once again this fall, leopards and panthers are gentle as kittens and the main inspiration behind the season’s essentials. With feline grace, coats, pants and handbags both look and feel warm and fuzzy. Wool and fur snuggle up to cashmere and alpaca like a tender silken salute to the animal kingdom.
Nature’s contrasts are part of its beauty. This season’s trend also plays with opposites. Material contrasts bring together the firmness of marble with the softness of fleece. Color contrasts pit coal black against the snowy pureness of white. Contrasting lines add another dimension, combining wide and thin bands that run up and down as much as back and forth. The same goes for prints because mixing them is no longer a deal with the devil. Neon camouflage, chevrons, panther, zebra and marble are now perfect bedfellows. The overall look is unified by colors bouncing off each other and the spirit of #urbannature, the steward of resolute symmetry.
